My name is Miss Davies. I teach Year 5, Dosbarth Llywelyn. I’ve taught a variety of classes in the school when I taught PPA and spent a term teaching pupils in Year 2.

I lead the Expressive Arts team in school and really enjoy planning exciting arts based learning for the children. As part of my role

I also lead the Young Troopers pupil voice group.

I am a Mum to three lovely children and enjoy spending time outdoors with them and taking them to their many clubs and activities after school.

My name is Miss Lewis and I currently work in Reception – Class 2. I am a Foundation Phase Teacher and have been teaching since 2001.
I love teaching in the Foundation Phase because we have lots of fun reading stories, singing, playing games and exploring new topics while developing our skills through fun topical activities.
I love animals and have a little dog and two cats. I like taking my dog out exploring the beautiful mountain and beaches in Wales. I love cooking and making delicious food that I can eat!

MRS J PHILLIPS

My name is Mrs Phillips and I teach Class 1 – Nursery at Aberbargoed Primary School.

My favourite colour is red.

I love to eat pizza! My favorite holiday destination is Italy as I went there on my honeymoon (and ate lots of pizza!!)

I have worked at Aberbargoed Primary School since November 2015, joining an enthusiastic, supportive and developing team of staff, as Reception class teacher, Foundation Phase leader and part of the Senior Management Team.

I love being a teacher as it provides me with endless opportunities to inspire and learn with staff and children, watching our pupils grow in confidence and develop new skills through playful, engaging experiences.

As a mother of a young son myself, I know how daunting it can be to send your little one off to full-time school. Please feel free to chat with me about any concerns you have, no matter how small they might be.

My name is Mrs Baber. I am currently Class 4, Year 2. teacher at Aberbargoed Primary School.

I have worked at Aberbargoed Primary for 8 years and have loved working with all of the children.

Outside of school, I enjoy taking my dogs for long walks and spending time with my family.

MRS B PERSA

My name is Mrs Persa and I teach Class 5, Year 3 at Aberbargoed Primary School.

I have been teaching for twelve years, and have taught a mixture of ages in the foundation phase and in the juniors. I enjoy teaching most subjects, but Welsh is my favourite as I am a fluent Welsh speaker. I also enjoy teaching History as I really enjoy watching the children learn about the past and compare it to their lives today.

In my spare time I like to keep busy so I work another job helping children and young adults who have a range of additional learning and physical needs. We often go out to different places like the local village, the cinema and ten pin bowling. We try to do as many activities as possible including swimming, cooking and arts and crafts.

I also enjoy being active and like walking and cycling, as long as it’s not raining too heavily! My favourite walk is the waterfalls walk in Brecon, I especially enjoy walking behind the waterfall.

MISS L SNAILHAM

My name is Miss Snailham and I teach Class 8, Year 5 at Aberbargoed Primary School.

I’ve worked at Aberbargoed Primary School since 2013. I like working within our school environment. Our school is always busy and sometimes it can be quite challenging but most of the time working with our great children is very rewarding.

I have lots of hobbies from keeping fit, watching rugby and shopping. However, my favourite hobby would be eating.

MISS J HARRIS

My name is Miss Harris and I currently teach all classes in the school in my role as PPA teacher

I have been at Aberbargoed over twenty years and I have taught classes from Year 2 to Year 6 during that time.

I grew up in the Rhymney Valley and went to school at Pengam Primary, Blackwood Comprehensive and Crosskeys College.

Many people would say that my favourite hobby is shopping.

Although one of my favourite, I much prefer being outside, from pottering in my garden to exploring the country side on long walking holidays, rain or shine.

There is no bad weather, only bad clothing.

MRS E DAVIES

My name is Mrs Davies and I work in Year 1. I love teaching all age children and I especially love siarad Cymraeg gyda pawb.

I am responsible for helping children and adults in our school community develop their love of our Welsh language. I really enjoy music and will often be found singing. I love spending time outdoors with my children and our puppy Ruby.
